Inside: If you are seeking out gift ideas for the minimalist mom in your life look no further. Shopping for a minimalist doesn’t have to be a headache. I have curated 10 ideas that she is sure to love this year!
There is something so special about Mother’s Day. I love celebrating my mom, and I too happen to be a mom of three little ones. There is something so blissful about getting to veg out and watch a Netflix show while dinner is being made. Or even better go on a hike with my family after a nice breakfast in bed.
It is a day to CHILL. No explanation is needed.
Having to buy gifts for minimalists can seem intimidating at first. I mean for me, those close to me watched as we purged our home of many unnecessary possessions and then observed me create my declutter business + podcast.
So I understand their hesitancy to approach me or my family with gifts.
With ALL of that being said, however, I do believe it is possible to shop minimalist gifts for her this Mother’s Day.
Every mom whether she is a minimalist mom or not still loves to receive gifts. This is coming from a mom who is very picky about purchases!
A Few Tips Before You Shop
- Try and set aside your agenda, needs, wants, and likes. The gift that makes the best gifts for minimalist parents are the ones that hit close to the heart. The practical gifts. The not flashy gifts.
- Think of an experience gift paired with a consumable for the ultimate gift package.
- Study her for a few weeks to nail down what her “needs” are around the house and in her day today.
10 MINIMALIST GIFTS FOR HER
A SPA DAY
I came right out and put this at #1 because all moms need a little TLC in their lives. It is nice not to feel guilty about leaving for a massage and facial. Well earned, mama!
ALONE TIME
It seems too simple to be true. I assure you (mom of three under three here) that the gift of being alone for a few hours during non-nap and bedtime hours are great times to rejuvenate.
A SMALL GETAWAY
This could be to a nearby town driving distance or just down the road to your home. Whatever the destination, a simple day or two retreats will be doable for even the busiest mama.
A 3 HOUR HOUSE CLEANING SERVICE
I love one-off house cleaning services that come only when you need them. There is no monthly cost required. There is nothing better than a three-hour deep clean on the most irritating areas like bathrooms and baseboards!
A FULL CAR DETAIL
A mama’s car can escalate from clean to dirty extremely fast. Many times, we mama’s don’t have time to deep clean the small nooks and crannies that get filthy. There is nothing better than a full car detail to make your daily errands happier!
DATE NIGHT OUT
Bonus points if you arrange a babysitter too!
FAVORITE BOOK OR AUDIBLE SUBSCRIPTION
Grabbing her favorite book or simply getting her an audible subscription will allow her to dive into a book she has been wanting to read but hasn’t found time.
PROFESSIONAL FAMILY PICTURES
The family usually dreads getting together for a family photo, and mom is usually the one leading the nagging when it comes to organizing the whole ordeal. Booking a spring or early summer photo session will be a thoughtful way for her to not have to organize anything.
*To find a local photographer search on Facebook or simply Google search “family photographer.”
SNAPFISH GIFT CARD
I love making photo books yearly to preserve our family pictures from SnapFish. There is something so fun about flipping back through the memories, and they are fun to peek through at family gatherings too.
GREEN PANS
Every kitchen usually needs a new set of pans. Buying the right pans is essential for health. Most non-stick pans are coated with toxic chemicals that should never be used near our food. I LOVE GREEN PANS. They are eco-friendly, and they are made with ceramic non-stick surfaces which will never release non-toxic fumes when heated up.
CONSUMABLE GIFT IDEAS
Some of the best minimalist gifts for her are consumable gifts that don’t cause any clutter. Sometimes getting too many “trinkets” or small gifts can cause more clutter than use. My favorite consumable gifts are:
- Coffee Shop Gift Cards
- Juice Bar Gift cards
- Crumbl Cookies sent to my door
- Freezer Meals (AMAZING)
- Subscriptions: Hello Fresh, Audible, Canva, Branch Basics
- Flowers or seed packets to plant flowers in her yard
- Bath Salts + Candles
- Cooking Classes or Lessons for an interest she has
- Essential oils to diffuse
- Sweets
These ideas are all great gifts for minimalists, so I hope that this gets the ideas flowing for you!
Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mama’s out there!
