In this post, you will find 10 of our favorite Easter Basket ideas for younger kids specifically. I have three younger boys under 4 that are going to love these simple goodies for our holiday this year! It will give you a good starting point for your purchases this year!
I love Easter. It is my favorite time of year for so many reasons. One is that it represents new life and regeneration. I also love that Spring is here and the weather is finally getting warmer!
I have a podcast episode on our favorite Easter traditions airing April 14th, 2022 .
The best Easter Basket ideas are always the simple and practical ones, am I right? I am not a huge fan of going to the dollar store for Easter Basket stuffers mainly because of the longevity of the items. The only things I will consider buying there are plastic Easter eggs, or Easter treats to fill the eggs with.
I would also consider buying easter basket filler as well but just left it out this year. Junky toys just won’t cut this year!
Same with unnecessary filler that will just get thrown all over my house. I found these adorable buckets this year from Target and I cannot wait to give them to my boys! They will be great for the egg hunt as well as fun in our backyard sandbox this year. A win for everyone!
Our Favorite Easter Traditions
Easter Eggs: Clay figurines telling the Easter stories
This one has been in my family for 20+ years. We love the stories and the authenticity each egg brings out!
Resurrection rolls: Empty Tomb Rolls
Easter morning church
Family brunch of some sort
The food we love to make on Easter are our resurrection rolls, potato and ham dish, or breakfast scramble. I also love a dessert of some sort.
This year we want to make a fruit pizza with a sugar cookie crust, and fresh fruit on top to celebrate Jesus’s resurrection. I love the bright colors with this dish and to me, the color symbolizes new life!
Here are some of my favorite ideas this year for Easter that do not cost a lot of money, and is not junky and cheap either.
Perfect Easter Basket Ideas
- Great books: Easter themed, devotionals, or just books in general your kids like
- Hot wheels or matchbox cars
- Bubbles: Fubbles Bubbles For Toddlers
- Color wonder pads
- Scratchpads
- Easter egg sidewalk chalk
- Easter egg crayons
- Fun character bandaids
- Special toothpaste
- Bath pens
Honorable Mention: Fun Easter Basket Ideas For Young Boys
These are filler ideas I left out this year but I wanted to mention! They are practical and they could take your basket to the next level if you want to add to my ideas.
- New Water Bottle
- Playdough
- Sticker Books
- Beach towels
- Card game or puzzle
- Craft Supplies
- Bike helmet or bike wheel lights
- A lego set for the Lego lover in your family
- New sandals or flip flops
I like to keep Easter gift ideas simple and to the point especially since I have toddler boys. Overindulging in the Easter bunny is not the main focus of the holiday, but also not skipping the fun celebration of Easter egg hunts and jelly beans either! It’s a fine line right?
If you can focus on consumables such as sunscreens, toothpaste, bath markers, bandaids, and a fun shampoo or conditioner those also make a child’s Easter Basket fill up!
Happy Easter! He is RISEN!
