Do you want to know how to simplify cleaning? As a mom of three busy toddlers, I assure you it can be done!
Cleaning can be hard to get checked off the list most days let alone most weeks! We tidy up, but what about actually cleaning our homes? Getting the dust knocked off the shelves, the toilet bowls cleaned up, and the mirrors shined?
Countertops are one thing but when you think about cleaning an entire home from start to finish it can be downright overwhelming. It may not ever get done.
I want this to INSPIRE you to SLOWLY and efficiently chip away at the whole house without having to hire help each month. If you have the means to do that, I think that is a wonderful gift to you. But not everyone can do that!
QUICK TIPS TO SIMPLIFYING YOUR CLEANING ROUTINES
1. Establish A Simple Cleaning Routine
You may be thinking: this is where I fall short every single time. I don’t know how to establish one….
Here is what I do.
I BATCH clean 3 areas of my home on different days if I am low on time. Small tidy-ups happen every single day, but the bulk of my actual cleaning happens usually at once.
2. Use An All-Purpose Cleaner
My favorite recipe for an easy all-purpose cleaner only contains 2 ingredients! It’s cheap and it’s so easy!
Be sure to use glass bottles to mix up the cleaner! Glass is great for essential oils because over time essential oils break down the plastic and pull out toxins from the no-good plastic.
Castille soap is the goddess of all soaps and serves so many essential purposes! I love using unscented because the fragrance from my essential oils does the trick!

3. Know Your Daily Cleaning Tasks
An Example of My Daily Cleaning Checklist
- Dishes
- Placing scattered items back in their homes
- Make the beds
- Sweep the kitchen floor and wipe kitchen countertops
- A load of laundry if I think the hamper is full enough
If you are interested in my laundry system for larger families, check it out! It does not include doing a load of laundry each day! Win!
4. RECRUIT HELP
If your kids are old enough to help out with smaller tasks, definitely start a chore chart. Simple sweeping, putting dishes away, putting toys away, and even making their beds is a HUGE help.
I am a firm believer in teaching kids these skills so they know how to take care of themselves later on! Learning how to work the laundry machine, as well as scrub dishes will benefit them in the long run!
LET’S RECAP
To figure out an easy house cleaning schedule that works for you and your family simply play around with a few of these ideas!
I like to simplify house cleaning by sectioning off the home into three areas as I mentioned above. It just seems to make the chore of actually cleaning instead of just tidying more doable!
- Whole Home.
- Kitchen
- Bathrooms
No need to overcomplicate this process. Pick what works for you and make it your own!
