Tips To Live Frugally

  1. Know your priorities- and make your spending decisions accordingly. Reframe what you think you need. Before you purchase ask simple yet powerful questions: do you really need it, can you afford it, do you already have it?

  2. Know what you can afford. What can you spend cold hard cash on. Not credit. What do you have the actual physical money for?

  3. Cook simply- if you need meal ideas I love giving them on this podcast as well as show you how to make them on my YouTube channel. I do not clip coupons- nor do I have time for it. Stick to whole foods. Sourdough starter: saves you money on boxed goods etc.

  4. Have a goal to stop shopping for a week or two. Try a no spend month. I am currently in the middle of my no spend month after reading the book: A year of less. It inspired me to go for a month. Spending $20 randomly each day racks up tens of thousands of dollars each year. That is serious money wasted.

  5. Buy private labels- stick to the basics.

  6. Quality- tools that are more of an investment up front will save you money in the long run. Just because you are living more frugally doesn’t mean you need to live cheaply all of the time. That is more wasteful and actually has the opposite effect. Knowing limits and boundaries is key in this department.

  7. Have a goal and have a budget and get on the same page as your spouse. Dream together and set priorities together.

  8. Know when you are being marketed to and distance yourself immediately. Whether that be in social media or at the store… when there is a story or fantasy surrounded by this item it is easy to talk yourself into buying it. See the item for what it really is and then picture it in your home without the marketing schemes. Same goes for vehicles- they lose their shiny look overtime… choose the right car for what you can afford.
